Grimsby v Dartford Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 31/10/2014

GRIMSBY return to Blundell Park for the first time in the league since the demoralising draw at home to Altrincham. Since that low point Town have reached successive highs, recording four victories, which today resulted in the award of Manager Of The Month to Grimsby boss Paul Hurst.

The month also saw victories in the Lincolnshire Cup and FA Cup as well as two wins against strong opposition away from Blundell Park in the league.

But it will count for little if Grimsby don't beat Dartford tomorrow. Town drew 1-1 at Dartford thanks to a penalty from John-Lewis and since that goal Town's big striker has been finding the back of the net on a regular basis.

John-Lewis looks certain to start and he could have a new partner in Nathan Arnold thanks to the latter's second half performance against Guiseley, when he came off the bench, and helped Town to from 0-0 to 3-0 in 1 5 minutes purple patch in the second half.

Jon-Paul Pittman continues to feature in the squad after an on-off start to the season but he's unlikely to get a starting place just yet and will have to settle for a place on the bench again.

Dartford striker Tom Bradbrook is fit again after missing the last two games, but he may not be ready for 90 minutes of action so may feature on the bench.

Grimsby have struggled to break down "lesser" teams at home this season and doubtless Dartford will copy the defensive game plan that has worked so well for the likes of Dover and Southport.
