Grimsby v Coventry Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 12/08/2017

GRIMSBY take on Coventry in the second Sky Bet League Two game of the season, hoping to build upon the three points gained from another relegated side, Chesterfield, last week.

Town could have two new signings in their ranks. New no. 9 striker JJ Hooper is a likely starter and on-loan Norwich winger Diallang Jaisyemi could also feature after joining Grimsby during the week.

Full back Zak Mills is suspended as the one-match ban from last week's game will roll over to this afternoon after Tuesday's abandoned game. Midfielder Jamey Osborne (knee) and striker Akwasi Asante (upper leg) both will be missing from action for some time although Sean McAllister and Chris Clements have returned to training.

Coventry have new signing, midfielder Tony Andreu from Norwich City, available to start while striker Marc McNulty is expected to return after being rested in the EFL Cup. Goalkeeper Lee Burge and defenders Chris Stokes and Jordan Willis have yet to feature so far after injuries, although all three are said to be close to match day involvement.
