Grimsby v Crewe Team News

RUSSELL Slade has two new signings to boost his squad for the visit of Crewe to Blundell Park. Blackpool striker Jamille Matt joined Town this week on loan, and former Iron winger Martyn Woolford was Russell Slade's last piece of the jigsaw in this season's squad.

Several players got an outing in the midweek defeat by Doncaster in the Checkatrade trophy, but Jamey Osborne (knee) and Akwasi Asante (groin) remain absentees.

Crewe, like Town, have a sprinkling of new signings and injuries. Midfielder Conor Grant (Everton loan) and defender Sam Stubbs (Wigan loan) joined the Railwaymen this week, but striker Chris Porter, midfielder James Jones and defenders George Ray, Michael Raynes and Perry Ng are all expected to be sidelined.

Crewe are undefeated and have won 3 out of their 4 away games to date. They did the double over Town last season winning 2-0 and 5-0 in the two league games. Town have lost both their home league games to date and could face an early place in the relegation zone if they fail to win.
