THE draw has taken place for two cup competitions this week. The Mariners will face Morecambe at home in the first round of the EFL (Carabao) Cup. The Mariners have also been drawn against newly relegated Hull City in the EFL Trophy.

Newcomers Harrogate Town and Leicester City will make up the numbers in the controversial competition, which has been heavily boycotted by supporters of most clubs, especially in the early rounds. The initial matches are still a group format with the top two sides progressing to the knock-out stages.

The match with Morecambe will take place on the weekend of Saturday 5th/Sunday 6th September. Normally a midweek competition, it has been moved to the weekend in this topsy turvy season. It will be behind closed doors but fans can watch it on iFollow.

Meanwhile, the schedule for the league matches is set to be announced on Friday. The season will kick-off on Saturday 12 September and conclude on 8/9 May 2021.

Town's first friendly with Cleethorpes in on Saturday 22nd August (12:30pm). It is behind closed doors but fans can watch it on wekapture.
