First League Game for 6 Months!

IAN Holloway has plenty of options following the two cup games when the season begins in earnest on Saturday. Town head to Walsall for an opener behind closed doors, with fans able to watch online.

Max Wright (thigh) joins James Hanson and Luke Hendrie on the injury list, but on the plus side 15-year-old, Louis Boyd has leapfrogged several players in the manager's thinking after his stunning debut goal from the bench in the 2-2 draw with Harrogate.

Holloway has numerous options, with 11 new signings yet to make their league debut, the nucleus of last season's side and a strong youth contingent all staking a claim.

Walsall, like Town, have drawn both their cup games in the season's opening games, although they have faced nominally stronger opposition in the form of Bristol Rovers and Sheff Wed. The two clubs have both won and lost a shootout. Town enjoyed a 3-1 win in the equivalent game last season.

The match will be the first league game in over 6 months, the longest break since the second world war, albeit with the stands denuded of supporters.
