I am disappointed that the council rejected the planning application for the new stadium for the young fans of tommorrow.Have any members of the council who rejected the plans ever visited Blundell Park to see how delapadated our current ground really is?
From yet another loyal dedicated fan.

How can the council be representing their constituents when a poll of around 14,000 people showed that 73 percent of them strongly support the stadium. They're clearly a bunch of old farts with no interest in anyones views but their own.

Having spent 3 years in neighbouring Scunthorpe I am well aware of the passion Grimsby fans show in their club. This project was eagerly awaited by their fans and I cannot understand the short-sightedness of the local councilors in their decision.
I truly hope this petition succeeds.
Good luck.

The councillors obviously want to destroy the club...they can't be allowed to get away with this most outragous action!!!

An astonishingly negative and backward step for Grimsby from the people who are meant to care most about taking the town forward.
Please ensure they feel the power of democracy at the next available moment - vote them out.
Town must survive this pathetically naive decision.

Why go through all of that then deny you, to me
this stinks.

Does anyone know why the Application was rejected ? Once the reasons for rejection have been addressed can GTFC submit another Planning Application ?

I was at the council meeting and it was a farce! Councillors had decided how they were going to vote before they walked into the room. They didn't even listen to the advice of their own professional officers. What we need is organised, consistent protest from the fans (voters) as opposed to the club. One of the councillors said that democracy had triumphed that night - let's show them how wrong they were. Let's turn out in our thousands and become a total pain in the arse!

As a partially distant Town fan, I was saddened to witness the outcome of the application. I do believe that the new stadium will boost the identity of GTFC and the area, and it would be much harder for other fans/press to blindly belittle the club's footballing heritage. Here's to the appeal!! Any clues on the usual success rate of this "last chance saloon"?

Grimsby is my home town and I go to matches when I can - we really do need a new stadium to have any hope of surviving.

I note that not ONE NE Lincs Concillor (YES or NO) has bothered to write in this Petition.
No Balls, the lot of them!

Why the council made this decision is anyones guess. Lets stand up to them and get the ground the Mariners deserve.
I'll stand against them at the next election. Up the Mariners!!!

The council clearly have no interest in the football club nor what is best for the town as a whole. They are more interested in the views of a minority who live in the 17th century who don't even have a local shop. Also, it is amazing how quickly the people in the "great coates residents comitee" or whatever they call themselves have forgotten things. The houses half these jokers live in were opposed to by the residents of great coates when they first wanted to build them. It seems these yokels are opposed to anyone building anything, even if it doesn't affect them.

Good luck to GTFC on the new stadium.

I think this new stadium is a really good idea.
This would give the town something to be proud of.
Come on - approve the plan.

Spineless.
The local councillors clearly do not have the guts or the competency to make the big decision.
NEL councillors are threatening the very future of our club while massaging their egos in the process.
They prefer to watch the club wither, rather than give GTFC the chance to raise the profile of the area and prosper.

Worst decision ever made by a council. They havent got passion for this town. And as for the not so great Coates people cheering at the town hall, all that they can support are their zimmer frames.Very sad people who want no future for their town.I hear on the grapevine a power station is on the way, they deserve it.

terrible decision all the supporters want is a decent stadium and team to go with it.
but certain people just couldn't care less what happens.i think its disgracful.
I thought i would give my thoughts on it anyway.

Like all town fans, I'm very disappointed in the lack of foresight in this decision. There's no such thing as a democracy in North East Lincs - Minority Rules.
I'm sure the majority will have their say come the next local election.
Don't give up, Town !
