Scunthorpe United are rumoured to be interested in Grimsby striker Daryl Clare. Clare, who this week resumed light training after recovering from an injury sustained while playing on loan at Cheltenham, is looking for a new club as he is out-of-contract at the end of the season.
At the moment, two news agencies are running this story as speculation but Brian Laws Scunthorpe's manager is in desperate need of a striker and Clare would be prepared to take the drop into the Third Division.
With Grimsby looking for an additional front man due to injuries, it is likely that Manager Lawrence might need Clare if he is unsuccessful in signing a loan player.
Club Call reports that Menno Willems officially ended his loan term with Grimsby Town last saturday at Notts Forest. No announcement has been made about him signing a contract therefore either another loan period has been agreed or he will return to his club
In other news just in the Scunthorpe United site is reporting interest in Kingsley Black.
"Scunthorpe United manager Brian Laws is looking to bring in a new player by Saturday. A midfielder would be the preferred position, and Ian Woan of Nottingham Forest and Kingsley Black of Grimsby Town have both been mentioned"
