Jim Dobbin1991/92-1995/96178 (11)27 goals

Jim Dobbin My Uncle's favourite saying of 'Give it to Dobbin' after his terrific goal against Newcastle in 1992, made him my favourite Town player in the 90's. This, together with his other long list of blockbuster goals, made him a regular in the Buckley and Laws era after being snapped up from Barnsley in 1991.

The Scot was however prone to a bit of a 'wobble' from time to time, especially in the 1995/96 season when after a good start to the campaign, he began playing badly, leading Brian Laws to drop him to the bench.

This did not however banish Dobbin from Blundell Park forever. In the 1998 Wembley season, he was back to Captain the reserves and fill in for injuries. This helped the younger players to progress, and he was still showing off his eye for goal with many long-range strikes for the second string. Dobbin then went to play for several non-league teams, and now works on a building site and attends the odd match on behalf of the PFA.
