By: Bill Osborne
Date: 27/09/2001

GRIMSBY TOWN have sold approximately 2,500 tickets so far for the Worthington Cup tie against Liverpool at Anfield on October 9. The primary allocation was for those attending the Gillingham game and season ticket holders.

With the tickets now going on open sale to all supporters on Monday, the Mariners are looking to take a bumper crowd with them. With a ticket allocation of 7,000 those seeking to buy tickets should not wait but book early.

The club are running a number of executive coaches to the game which includes a ticket to the game. Prices £35 adults and £29 juniors. Details on and bookings to the commercial department at commercial@gtfc.co.uk or to Tony Richardson on 608006.

Good news for our handicapped supporters. Liverpool have now decided to offer a further 21 places for our handicapped supporters taking the total available to 29.

The club at this time have decided to accept only 20 until actual requirements can be worked out.

Thanks to Kirsty at GTFC for her efforts in getting our allocation increased. The disabled and helper allocation at Anfield is normally 79, with only 8 for away fans.

The coordinator for the handicapped supporters in Grimsby is Daphne Farquarson, she can be contacted on 01472 696904. It would be advisable to liase with Daphne if you have any particular requirments.
