Bryan Huxford Sells His Shares In Grimsby Town FC

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 28/09/2001

BRYAN HUXFORD has sold his major shareholding in Grimsby Town Football Club totaling 41,000 shares to Hull-based haulier Ian Blakey. The matter was raised at the AGM yesterday when former director Clive Aspinall brought the matter to the attention of the shareholders.

"I understand we have a new individual major shareholder called Blakey, based in Hull, who has recently obtained 41,600 shares," said Mr Aspinall who also asked if Mr Blakey had any connection with the area and the club and how he had managed to obtain the shares.

Peter Furneaux said share transfers between individuals were a matter for them and he could not comment but Mr Huxford confirmed he was the seller and said he would speak to Mr Aspinall after the meeting.

The sale of his shares gives a firm indication that Hux is no longer interested in being involved in the club itself but will remain a staunch supporter of the Mariners and their fans.
