Gallimore To Miss Arsenal Game

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 13/11/2001

GRIMSBY TOWN will be missing Tony Gallimore when they meet Arsenal in the next round of the Worthington Cup. Tony received his fifth booking of the season in Saturday's game against Sheffield Wednesday. His season so far has been impressive.

So much so that Manager Lawrence gave him the captains armband when Groves was dropped for two games. "I just hope the lads do well." Gallimore told the official website. "I think I'm suspended for that one. I found out yesterday that the Burnley game is on the Friday, and the Arsenal game is after that so it looks as though I'm sitting that one out!"

This will be a blow to Lawrence who is looking to field his strongest team against the Gunners but barring bad luck, a few of the injured players may be back in time to give Lawrence a chance to choose a replacement.

  • Town Youth Team's 3rd round game in the FA Youth Cup at home to Peterborough has been re-arranged for Tuesday, November 20.   Full Fixture List
