Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Contract Season Looms Again

By: James Caroline

THERE always comes a time at the end of the season when we have a crisis (no not a financial crisis) but a contract expiry crisis.

Home > Features > Contract Season Looms Again

This season we have Boulding's expiring which really needs securing now for at least two seasons with NO clauses.

With Jeffrey and Allen's contracts expiring in the near future which of the pair should Grovesie keep? Will it be Mick or will it be Brad? I think it would have to be Bradley Allen as his performances of late have been wonderful.

With Simon Ford's (left) contract coming to an end shortly, he needs re-signing now for at least two seasons. I know he hasn't been regularly playing first team football this campaign but give the lad a chance and in my mind he has performed EXCELLENTLY when he has featured. Fordy will probably become one of GTFC's finest given the opportunity, but if an offer comes in for him that is just unrejectable (e.g.£2m) would Groves be able to turn it down?

With Coyne's (right) performances being consistently superb I wouldn't be surprised if a Premiership move is imminent for the Welsh international! At school the other week I heard that Liverpool had made a £5,500,000 bid for him!!! I turned around and said that can't be true and I am sure it isn't. Realistically Danny is worth around £1.5m and not £5.5m!!!
