The Ray Lucas Column: My Birthday Wishes

IT HAPPENS only once. This year, I'm celebrating my 21st birthday, and after racking my brains, there are a few things that would make my special day even better. First of all, I would love The Mariners to secure their First Division status for another year.

My next wish is directly linked to Saturday's final home game against Burnley. There is nothing I would like more than to capture something that has eluded me for a long time. I am referring to the autograph of current Burnley star Paul Gascoigne. If he says no, I promise I will not get upset, but if he signed it would mean a great deal to me, as I have followed his career since the time he was at Newcastle United.

It would mean the world to me also if I could be given the opportunity to interview as many of the first-team squad as possible. This would be important to me as it would allow me to put my fledgling journalistic skills into practice again. It would be the best chance to see if I have improved since my previous efforts.

If I could wish for anything, then I would love to have my picture taken with the current Grimsby first-team squad. There is nothing I would like better than to have a picture of my heroes signed and hanging on my bedroom wall. So come on GTFC, make my wishes come true.
