Season Ticket Prices Announced

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 02/05/2002

GRIMSBY Town Football Club today announced on Mariners Net, the season ticket prices for the new season with a slight increase in prices. Although a price hike was expected due to the ITV Digital collapse and the corresponding loss of income, the rise is not as draconian as expected.

The Club Statement:

The football club has found it necessary to make a small increase in prices for the new season, though this is the first for three years, and still leaves the Mariners with one of the best value season tickets in the First Division.

An 'average' ticket has increased by about 2% over those years, which is well below the cost of inflation, at a time when costs to the football club have been rising much faster. Players wages - an area where the Mariners have to compete with clubs attracting far bigger gates which charge significantly higher admission prices - have increased significantly, but so too has the cost of all other aspects of running a football club.

For children the club still operates the 'child free' concession in the Main Stand, and a child's season ticket for any stand is £60.

The club is also offering a number of special deals, some of which can save virtually the entire cost of a season ticket!

Fans are already familiar with the many advantages of having a season ticket:

  • A guaranteed seat where you want it

  • The price of a season ticket bought before 29 June 2002 saves the cost of entry equating to four games;

  • Season ticket holders have preference to tickets for big matches - as they did last year for both Liverpool and Arsenal

  • Season ticket holders can simply telephone in for seat reservations for extra tickets for normal games, or for the big cup games

  • Providing there is sufficient allocation of seats, season ticket holders can book more than one seat per season ticket for big games - e.g. as for Liverpool and Arsenal away last season.
  • Prices increase after June 29

    After June 29
    Upper Smiths £304 £368
Main Stand £285 £345 (Free Junior season ticket with every full paying adult)
    Lower Smiths £247 £299
    Pontoon £247 £299
Senior citizens: £171 all stands £207
    Juniors: £60 all stands £60
    Students: £171 Pontoon £20
