The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Cash For Groves!

DESPITE disagreements during the last week, the Grimsby board of directors have agreed to back Paul Groves' in his plans plans to bring in new players to boost the squad.

The board held a long five-hour meeting behind closed doors and finally allocated an undisclosed sum of money into the managers war chest.

However, Town chairman Peter Furneaux made it clear that the money is a fixed amount and the club will not pay outrageous players' wages.

"The board has voted to accept the manager's plans and his proposed level of spending on new players and we hope that we can bring in the players quickly." Furneaux refused to confirm that a peace deal had been brokered and that in itself may indicate the problem still exists.
