FORMER loan striker David Nielsen is confident of an opening day win for Norwich over Grimsby on Saturday. The striker, who scored six goals in 16 starts during his loan spell with the Mariners, believes it will be the perfect start to the campaign.

"Grimsby at home is a dream start for us," began Nielsen. "No disrespect to them but they're not one of the best teams in the League and they're always down there. We're a better team than them and should win on Saturday.

"We're very confident and now it's time to get down to business. Pre-season is one thing and training is one thing, but the games are different and we're looking forward to getting three points."

The Danish striker has been a big hit with the Carrow Road side since his move from Wimbledon last season, and will be looking to continue in the same vein of form he finished in at the end of the last campaign in Cardiff.
