Is football a business or a sport?

Keeping the Faith 2

I actually don't mind losing as long as the town have played well. Some of the games have been quite close (Derby, Pompey, Coventry, Sheffield). But we had Notts Forest.

As individual we have good players. As a team they are, well not a team.

Reasons

Discipline on the field.

What team allows 2 players arguing amongst themselves whilst the ball is in play? Barnard and Gallimore were hammer and tongs over something.

Gallimore should be spanked and sent to bed for a petulant hack on a Forest player, who made a meal of, but the naivety of it opened Town up.

Barnard should have been sent off for trying to break someone else's legs in the Osmond end corner. What possessed him to run half way across the pitch to do that, yet not run when Town needed him? Macca get a grip. Threaten anyone who so much as bleats, moans, argues, gesticulates when basically they should be getting into position for defence/attack.

Basics of the Game.

The team is a coiled spring, retracting when defending or extending when attacking. All in unison right? Wrong!

When Coyne eventually snaffles the ball after an attack has petered out, watch what happens. Kabba and Robinson sprint up field. Danny jumps up and surveys his options. Does he pass it to his Defence/Midfield who are congregated around his penalty area, pointing accusative fingers at some misdemeanour or to the our two lonely attackers who have 6 of the opposition around them? Get my drift.?

Paul Groves

Paul Groves was not fast, when he was fast. It cannot be changed. However, when you are up against the likes of Johnson, who is electric, once Paul is beaten, it's only Danny Coyne left. Much better Paul goes Midfield surely. There he can use knowledge and ability to slow the opposition down, and kick a few bums to make sure our Midfield give our Attack some help, or at least keep up.!

One last thing. Don't, repeat don't head the ball!! We cannot, we should not. Keep it on the ground, and pass pass pass. It will come right.
