Burnley Preview

TOWN go into this second successive away game in the middle of one of their best runs of the season, something that needs to continue with a result against a Burnley side who have lost their last four games, but it won’t be easy with Town already having lost 4-0 at Turf Moor this season.

The Bottom Line | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Town need to continue their decent run and try and pull away from the bottom three. They also need to make the most of John Oster in a match that could be his last game for Town this season.

The Opposition - Any Good? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Clarets have a squad with potential to be one of the best in this division, especially in attack, a fact the Town defence know all to well about having conceded eleven in three games against them. With three of these goals is attacker Gareth Taylor (left) who might head their strikeforce along with Ian Moore, son of Ronnie Moore, whose Rotherham side of course lost to Town in midweek. In midfield, the industrious Paul Cook will be joined by winger Glenn Little who returned to the side in midweek against Leicester. At the back, Drissa Diallo and David Arthur Gnohere will hope to keep Town at bay in a fixture that has seen 18 goals in three games this season!

Last Time Out | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Town fans do not need reminding of the last time they met Burnley. This of course, was earlier this year in their FA Cup fourth round replay when Town went down to miserable 4-0 defeat, a game in which Town never really threatened the Clarets dominance.
