Coldicott Breaks Leg

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 23/03/2003

TOWN midfielder Stacy Coldicott sustained a broken leg during this afternoon's 1-1 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor and will miss the rest of the season. With fellow central midfielder Alan Pouton also out of action, Groves has until Thursday's transfer deadline to find a replacement.

"It looked fairly innocuous at the time," Groves told Mariners Net. "He went to close Steve Davis down and one or two of the lads said they heard a crack."

"We were always looking for a midfield player anyway, so we'll have to have a look at it with the deadline coming up on Thursday. We will need to assess things very quickly, have a look at Barny's injury as well - it leaves us a little bit light in there".

Groves also confirmed that talks are still ongoing to extend John Oster's loan spell from Sunderland, which has now run out. "We will be speaking to John and his agent very soon - we'll have to see what the outcome is," said the Town boss.
