Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

A Star Is Born!

RICHARD Lord, a feature writer for the Fishy, is now the newest presenter on Mariners World. Richard has spent the last two years completing a Journalism course at Grimsby College and now hopes to work his way into the media field.

The HND Journalism program has involved Richard in a number of media activities. News writing, feature writing, radio work and TV pieces have all been part of the two-year course - along with shorthand lessons.

He spent a large part of the last academic year working on 'Slipped Through The Net', which was published on the Fishy at the end of March.

Richard had an open mind about what next year would have in store. More work experience at local media companies could have been on the agenda, with the possibility of university in the future.

But now, thanks to Grimsby Town FC, Richard has been given the opportunity to put his skills into practice and this last week he has been down at Blundell Park doing interviews, which are now live on Mariners World.

Richard On Mariners World
His first interview was with accounts manager Steve Wraith regarding the recent share issue and season ticket sales.

His second interview was with assistant groundsman Dean Wright, where the re-seeded Blundell Park pitch was the topic of discussion.

You can see Richard on Mariners World by taking advantage of the 24-hour free trial on Mariners World. This free trial has been so successful that the club are extending the offer until the end of July - but now the deal's got even better!
