Gillingham Target Switch?

By: Rob Sedgwick

FEARS that Michael Boulding could be on his way to Gillingham has been allayed after it was revealed today that the Gills have Wimbledon striker Patrick Agyemang in their sights.

Wimbledon boss Stuart Murdoch was instructed by the South London club's administrators to withdraw Agyemang from the squad in the match against Crewe at the weekend, to avoid the player being injured.

"I was told I couldn't play Patrick on Saturday as the administrator didn't want him to get injured in case it jeopardised the move," Murdoch told Sky Sports News.

Last week Gillingham admitted that they had made enquiries about bringing Grimsby pair Michael Boulding and Alan Pouton to Priestfield. The news today that the Kent club have just sold midfielder Paul Shaw to Sheffield United, however, suggests that a bid for fans' favourite Alan Pouton may be imminent.
