Notts County Team News

AFTER the ecstasy of Saturday afternoon, Town quickly find themselves back into league action in yet another Tuesday night match. The Mariners travel to Notts County, who themselves have enjoyed some recent good form of late.
The main news for the Mariners is that midfield marshal Stacy Coldicott will not travel to Meadow Lane for the game tonight. Stacy, now known as Graham Rodger’s "yard dog" picked up a groin strain in the 6-1 win over Barnsley at the weekend, and could be out for another week yet. This means that Des Hamilton will partner Nick Daws in the centre of the Town midfield.
Iain Anderson is still sidelined through injury, though even if he was fit, it would be inconceivable that he would replace Phil Jevons who of course, scored four goals on Saturday. Jason Crowe could make the squad after missing the past two games. Simon Ford will travel with the squad and have a late fitness test, but Wes Parker is on standby to deputise. Better news for the Mariners is that keeper’ Aidan Davison’s calf injury is not as bad as first suspected, so should be back playing in six weeks time. Davison is suspended anyhow, so Andrew Pettinger will continue in goal.
Notts County will welcome back their new signing, Stefan Oakes, after he missed out on their 3-2 success at Brentford through illness. Though the former Leicester City midfielder may have to settle for a place on the bench after the successful return of ex Huddersfield midfielder Simon Baldry on Saturday after a lay off through injury.
The Magpies win at Brentford on Saturday meant that they won two games in a row for the first time in the league this season, and has moved them just three points away from safety, making the clash in Nottingham all important for Gary Mill’s side.
Probable Teams:
Town: Pettinger, Parker, Crane, Armstrong, Barnard, Campbell, Hamilton, Daws, Jevons, Rankin, Thorpe.

Notts County: Garden, Pipe, Fenton, Barras, Rochardson, Baldry, Bolland, Caskey, McHugh, Antoine-Curier, Heffernan.
