New Players To Sign?

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 10/06/2004

TOWN boss Russell Slade is expecting that Greg Young and Graham Hockless will sign new deals next week with two new faces also expected to sign.

Slade said today that he has met with an unnamed midfielder player who may sign a contract on Tuesday. "The talks went very well today," he told Mariners Net. "I'm confident we can do something next week."

He will also be meeting a defender tomorrow for talks and a striker in the near future.

But no word yet about a certain Mr Jevons, who appears to be 'missing in action'. So Mr Slade will have his work cut out to find a striker if Jevons does not agree to a new deal. There are a few who will probably not complain if he does not sign, but he seems to be of better quality than a few names supposedly connected to Town or on Slade's list of targets.

The third division is no pushover as far as Town are concerned, so we will have to be assured that whoever comes to Blundell Park, they are able to perform equally as well, if not better, than some of the one's we look like losing.
