Robert Taylor

Injury prone striker who originally joined on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 2001/2002 season. Taylor, who had past records with Manchester City amongst others, was told to be a decent target man with an eye for goal.

What we actually got was an injury prone has-been with an eye for resting. Taylor made 4 apperances and scored once in his loan spell before returning to Wolves for a few months.

The following year Paul Groves decided to sign Taylor permanently, and the bull like front man made his official permanent debut in the 0-0 away draw with Bradford City alongside new boy Steve Kabba. However after only 20 or so minutes Rob was brought off injured and never played for Grimsby again.

Taylor was released and made the team at Scunthorpe United 8 times before bowing out of the professional game. After a year in the lower depths on non league football, Taylor recently took over as manager of amateur side Dereham FC.
