Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Injury List 25/08

By: The Fishyio
Date: 25/08/2005

THIS time last week Russell Slade had virtually a full squad to pick from for the Darlington match. A week, though, is a long time in football and the Blundell Park treatment room is seeing plenty of action. The Fishyio brings you all the latest news.

Gary Cohen limped off during Grimsby's impressive victory at Pride Park on Wednesday night with an hamstring injury and is definitely out for the trip to Barnet on Saturday. The on-loan Gretna striker is also very doubtful for the Bank Holiday Monday game at home to Rushden.

Rob Jones also went off with an injury against Derby at half time and is rated only 50/50 of recovering in time for the trip to Barnet.

Gary Croft is still suffering from a swollen knee which caused him to miss the Derby match, for which he is receiving intensive treatment to reduce the swelling enough to be able to play over the course of the weekend.

Ciaran Toner's broken finger, sustained in a car crash earlier this week, means the former Imp is unlikely to be able to play in this weekend's games, although Grimsby are looking into the possibility of playing with a special protective cast.
