Beat the Bookies: Week 31

By: Rob Sedgwick

FIVE of the top six won last week. Guess which one I picked? Peterborough, who surprisingly lost to Bristol Rovers in the shock of the weekend! Oh well.

Last weekend all the top clubs had relatively easy fixtures on paper. This weekend almost every team has a harder game, in principle. Grimsby head to Rushden, who have won their last three games at Nene Park, although all of them were relegation six pointers. Diamonds have now dragged themselves off the bottom spot and bet365.com offer 7/4 for them to make it four wins on the spin against Grimsby, who have lost on both their previous visits to the ground. Town can be backed at 13/10 in a game which is very hard to call.

Likewise almost every game in League Two is very difficult to predict, so expect a lot of draws! Possibly the match that stands out with a definite winner is improving Bury to beat Macclesfield, who have only won two games this year - even if they were against Carlisle and Wycombe! bet365.com are offering 6/5 on a win for the Shakers, who are at home.

Outside League Two Arsenal rarely win away, but the bookies keep making them favourites to grab three points outside Highbury. Fulham are a remarkable 11/5 to beat the Gunners at home, where they are virtually invincible, having won 9 out of 13 games. At those odds they cannot be ignored.

RECOMMENDED BET OF THE WEEK:
