Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby finish?

Blood Aplenty!

AFTER reading John Baxter’s piece on the Fishy I think a few facts were wrong. Bolland is still under contract for the new season; why the mainstream press get this wrong I don't know.

The way the squad numbers have been given to the contracted players there are FOUR numbers spare so Rodger will bring in another four players to compliment the ones he’s already got or it would be put down to his first major mistake in his short reign so far.

People also forget that the transfer window will be shut at the end of August and then re-opens in January so what the point of panic buying when there still another SEVEN weeks till this happens and the players who aren't signed up will have nothing to pay their bills so will end up signing for whatever they can get from other clubs.

What Rodger is putting together will be better and more experienced than last season as signing Peter Beagrie has shown and comparing what he did last season to this before its started is rather blasê to me. The most annoying thing in all this is having no assistant manager yet and Rodger has had the job four weeks now. Why didn't they appoint one then as there are a few candidates in the backroom staff that has been overlooked (that’s if they have).

Why not give either Dave Moore or Neil Woods the job as they both have been in football a while and will compliment Rodger very well as ten years ago Dave Moore was managing Scunthorpe United and has all his coaching badges as well and will still have a few contacts left that he might be able to use.
