Junior Mendes

Traditional looking player who was on loan for half of the 2005/2006 season from Huddersfield Town. Was a handful at times but failed to get on the scoresheet.

Striker Junior Mendes started his career of with Premiership giants Chelsea in August 1995, however Mendes never made an impact at Stamford Bridge and he was released where he moved to Scotland to play for St Mirren.

Mendes went on to play four seasons with the Saints, and after a brief loan with Carlisle United, he moved to the SPL with Dunfermline Athletic.

In 2002 Junior returned for a short spell with St Mirren, but left after 6 months and returned to England with Mansfield Town. He enjoyed a successful year and a half at Field Mill, where he earned the attention of Huddersfield Town.

Huddersfield would become his next port of call, but first team action was rare, and he was loaned out to Northampton Town as well as coming here to Blundell Park for a few months.

At the end of the 2005/2006 season Mendes was released by Huddersfield, and looked to Grimsby for a contract but new boss Graham Rodger snubbed him and he signed for Notts County.

Following a loan spell with Lincoln City, Mendes was let go by Notts County after 12 months at Meadow Lane.
