Town Draw Terriers

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 11/08/2007

GRIMSBY have been drawn to Huddersfield in the Johnstone Paint Trophy, a competition they have had a miserable record in since winning it in their Wembley Double season of 1998. Nonetheless a home draw in the competition which is Grimsby's best chance of getting to Wembley is welcome.

The Terriers, who finished mid-table in League One last season, met Town in the same competition in 1988-1989 where they won 4-2 over two legs including a 3-1 victory at Blundell Park.

Leeds United are one of the sixteen clubs who have been given a bye in the first round, and await one of the eight winners from Round One, another incentive for Town to do well in this competition.
