Mickael Buscher

When Buscher was handed a trial by Grimsby boss Mike Newell many fans thought he looked promising on paper, Played for his country (France) twice, capped for the u16's and u17's. as a youngster for Nice although in two years he made no appearances for the French Ligue 1 outfit, He left OGC Nice for then Newly promoted Scottish Premier League minnows Gretna in 2007, given a 3 year deal.

He played 17 times and scored once for Gretna before they fell into financial troubles and went bust, The Frenchman was made redundant, after a trial with Hearts.

He went 4 months without a club before new Town boss Mike Newell handed the Frenchman a trial. He seemed to impress Newell, being a left footed winger and striker he seemed to be what Town were looking for at the time. Played at a higher level, perhaps he was going to be one of Town's saviours so Newell handed him a contract until the end of the 08/09 season, along with another trialist Jean Louis Akpa Akpro, who struggled to speak any English.

However by February after he had only made a few appearances for the reserves, and was never on the bench, Newell gave Buscher a drilling live on BBC Radio Humberside's coverage of Towns fans' forum, Saying the Frenchman needed a kick up the backside and he needed to pull his finger out.

Buscher failed to make any impact with town and was released in May 2009.

In the end it seemed Mickael was more than likely used to help Akpro with his language skills...
