Elbow Victim Mick Boulding Speaks Of Incident

By: Richard Lord
Date: 18/03/2002

MICK Boulding, the victim of a Kevin Muscat elbow early in the second half of the 1-0 victory at Wolves, spoke after the game about the incident, declaring: "I still feel terrible."

Asked why the Australian international full back threw out an arm, Boulding responded: "I'm not sure why he did it because he had the ball and I was challenging from behind.

"I think it was an elbow and it just came from nowhere. I was unconscious at first but then I came round and realised what was going on. I thought I'd run it off but I feel worse now after the game than I did when I was playing."

Muscat escaped punishment from a similar incident in the first few minutes, but his actions in the 54th minute were witnessed by the officials.

Boulding explained: "There was no conversation between us during the game but whenever I went near him he seemed to catch me. Maybe he didn't like the look of me. I don't know why although I know I'm not the prettiest!"
