October Player of the Month
By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 05/11/2006
October 2006 will not go down as the finest month in Grimsby Town's history, although there were some highlights: the 2-1 win over Hereford at Blundell Park, and spirited performance by the ten men at Peterborough.

The six players nominated by our readers for the October Player of the Month award, votes from which will count towards the eventual winner at the end of the season, are as follows:
Andy Butler - Scunthorpe's skipper came on loan for a month and played in four of October's games, conceding a penalty and scoring an own goal!
Ciaran Toner - Hard-working midfielder who once again scored important goals during October.
Peter Bore - This season's best newcomer made the move up front during October and was particularly effective in the 2-2 draw at Peterborough.
Phil Barnes - Barnes came under criticism from some quarters after his first few games for the Mariners, but is gradually improving, even if the Town defence as a whole is not.
Nick Fenton - Town's defence has not been the greatest this season but when they have played well, especially in first halves, Fenton has looked the part.
Gary Croft - Almost retired in the summer but has played virtually every game this season for the Mariners and is a reliable full back on either side of the pitch.
Pleas vote using Question of the Week.
