Patrick McLaughlin Signs
By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 28/06/2013
MIDFIELDER Patrick McLaughlin has signed from York City on a two year deal at Blundell Park. McLaughlin, known as "Paddy", was revealed as a target last week by the Town managers
The 22-year-old Northern Ireland U-21 international is an attacking midfielder who has played extensively for York both in the Conference and League Two. Prior to joining York the left footed player was on the books at Newcastle but never made an appearance for the Magpies.
McLaughlin has played mainly in a midfield, but is left-footed so can also operate in a wide position. The managers have hinted they may favour a 4-3-3 formation this season, but with just an 18-man squad they need players who are comfortable in more than one role.
The Mariners, who have now begun pre-season, are looking for three more players to complete their new-look squad.
