Pontoon Gallery

In the first part of our photographic tour of Blundell Park we start at the Pontoon Stand, traditionally the most vocal part of those areas reserved for home supporters. The original Pontoon stand built in 1900 was replaced in 1961 by the present stand (paid for by the GTFC supporters club).
In the 1995 close-season, the Pontoon, like the rest of the covered standing areas at Blundell Park was converted to an all-seater stand to comply with the Taylor report.
It is fair to say that the Pontoon Stand enjoys a special place in the heart of every Town fan who has ever regularly stood (or latterly sat) in it.
10 thumbnails of photographs of the Pontoon Stand can be seen below. Click on the thumbnail to see the photograph in full size.
