Barnsley Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 29/09/2000

John McDermott and Kingsley Black have both recovered from the injuries which have kept the pair out recently, and on-loan Leicester City midfielder Stuart Campbell joins them in the squad for tomorrow's game against Barnsley. Livingstone and Paul Raven are both though still unavailable.

McDermott and Black have recovered from knee and groin injuries respectively, whereas Campbell returns after being cup-tied for Town's 3-2 midweek victory over Wolves in the Worthington Cup. Jonathan Rowan, who scored with his second touch on his debut for the Mariners, is included in the squad for the game at Oakwell. Rowan will probably have to settle for one of the substitute places. Lennie Lawrence has the choice of any two from three up front of Allen, Clare and Jeffrey, although Rowan is technically in competition with the three established strikers. Barnsley beat Town home and away 3-0 last season, so the Mariners are after some revenge! Town face a frantic weekend, playing Barnsley away on Saturday in the league. On Monday it's another away game, this time at Wolves in the Worthington Cup, followed by nearly two weeks without a first team game, with next Friday's league match at Wolves having been postponed.
