French Defender Trial

Lennie Lawrence is set to further reinforce his foreign legion with today's news that French defender Cedric Carrez will be the club's latest trialist. Centre-half Carrez will join the Mariners shortly as Lawrence continues to scour Europe for more cut-price bargains.
26-year old Carrez, currently playing in the Belgian First Division with AA Gent, has spent most of his career in France with Lille and also had a short spell with OGC Nice.
Carrez, should he impress the Mariners' boss, is expected to command a small transfer fee as the Frenchman is under contract to AA Gent until 2002.
