With a number of clubs showing an interest in David Nielsen, Grimsby manager Lennie Lawrence, said today that Nielsen must sign for Town. "Other clubs showing an interest in him is not unexpected," said Lawrence. "If he is doing well people are going to be looking at him"

A number of clubs are reported to be watching Nielsen including Leicester, Liverpool and Notts Forest. Grimsby however has an agreement with Copenhagen and a fee has been agreed. It remains now for the club to agree terms with the player who is reported to be back in Denmark training with FC Copenhagen with Lawrence's permission. "He should come here and stay with us for maybe 18 months before looking to move on" said Lawrence who will be sitting down with Nielsen soon to discuss his future with Town. Norwegian Knut Anders Fostervold has returned to his club FC Molde and although Lennie Lawrence wants a 3-month loan deal his club are looking for a straight transfer. A problem is that until Nielsen makes his decision, this deal may be stalled. "The money they want isn't impossible but I need to sort out things with David first.
