With the FA Cup ties taking the headlines this weekend, we have taken a look around the papers to see how they reported the Grimsby Town victory over Portsmouth. Many took the news from the wire and had virtually the same story. Here are a selection of the best.

Grimsby fought off a second half challenge from Portsmouth to grab three vital points in their fight again relegation. The Mariners looked to be cruising when they went 2-0 up through Kevin Donovan and Steve Livingstone but, inspired by player-boss Steve Claridge, Pompey staged a second half revival, pulling a goal back through Lee Bradbury. And it was only a great save by Danny Coyne from Bradbury that denied the visitors a point.

Grimsby Town brought the smiles back to the fans faces with a gritty but much-needed winning performance against Portsmouth.
The Mariners, playing some superb football in a 4-4-2 formation, raced into a two-goal half-time lead.
But they were knocked out of their stride when Pompey pulled a goal back in the 72nd minute and had to draw on all their reserves of courage and energy to hold on for the points.
