Benjamin Denies Move

Having attended the reserve game between the Foxes and Coventry City, I can confirm that the 21-year-old Leicester City striker, Trevor Benjamin, a reported target of Grimsby manager Lennie Lawrence, tonight denied any approach from the Mariners for a loan spell at Blundell Park.
When I asked Trevor Benjamin about the proposed move to Blundell Park the former Cambridge front man said he had no knowledge of any sort of an offer or move, loan or permanent.
Benjamin played the first half for the Foxes, in their Reserve game against Coventry City tonight. His display was quiet, having just the one effort on goal, when, with just Chris Kirkland to beat, he put the ball wide of the left hand post. Benjamin did not make any other impact in the match after that.
Lennie Lawrence, on his 2nd or 3rd visit to Filbert Street this season, then decided to leave after only 15 minutes of the 2nd half, leading to the conclusion that he was there to see Benjamin play, and not Mendonca, as speculated, on one of his previous visits.
