After another dream game for Danny Coyne against QPR on Saturday, Lennie Lawrence spoke highly of his Welsh 'keeper. "The performance of Danny was typical, he's had a wonderful season. How he's not in the current Wales squad is beyond belief,"

Danny Coyne rated 10 out of 10 points by the Grimsby Evening Telegraph after the match. Coyne's value must have doubled this season, and is the favourite to be Player of the Year.

Speculation about the former Tranmere goalie with Aston Villa was in the news last week and with Manchester United looking for a goalie for Champions League at the moment the rumours can really start flowing. With his season long consistent performance it can only be a matter of time before serious moves are made for Coyne.

Meanwhile Bolton Wanderers, a club who Danny was linked to recently, have now shown interest in a Swede instead. Brann 'keeper Magnus Kihlstedt is now a target for Bolton. With their first team goalie Jussi Jaaskelainen out on a long term injury Bolton are desperate for a new goalie and have received a "no" Thomas Myhre, Ed de Goey, Matt Clarke and Dmitrij Kharine. Though Kihlsted is not interested in a trial with Bolton a transfer is not ruled out with the transfer deadline on Thursday and Danny Coyne is maybe out of Bolton's price range after his great performance against QPR.

Nottingham Forest today denied they were offering a 6 figure sum for Coyne. That is not to say they have no interest but an offer has not been made so far.

Transfer Deadline News

In other news, Grimsby are about to make a move to secure another player before the transfer deadline and the latest is that the player will be a forward.

The Town manager is also looking to bring in a third keeper on loan before Thursday as cover for Town's pair Danny Coyne and Steve Croudson
