GRIMSBY TOWN'S Welsh international goalkeeper Danny Coyne appears to be all set for a move to the Premiership with Aston Villa after all. Coyne had been linked with a pre-deadline day move to the Premiership giants but, although that deal failed to materialise.
The Welsh shot-stopper now looks set to sign for Villa boss John Gregory during the summer. A source close to Coyne was quoted as saying: "Danny won't be going anywhere - at least not just yet - but he does have an offer on the table from a Premiership club regarding a move in the summer."
Town reserves lost 4-2 after extra time (1-1 at 90 mins) to Sheffield United at Blundell Park this afternoon in the second round of the Avon Insurance League Cup. Trialist Chris Thompson and Adam Buckley were on target for the Mariners second string.
