Town to Feature in PPV Game

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 05/07/2001

THE FA have announced fixture changes for Grimsby Town to allow for England's World Cup qualifying matches. The changes also include the home game against Birmingham City to be screened live on the new pay-per-view 'ITV Digital' channel.

Grimsby Town vs Birmingham City has been moved to Friday October 26th, due to ITV Digital's decision to screen the game live. The match will kick-off at 7.45pm. This match will also herald the first pay-per-view game for both Grimsby Town and Birmingham City supporters.

Grimsby Town vs Barnsley was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday September 1st at 3.00pm. On that day England play Germany in the Qualifying rounds of the 2002 World Cup so the kick off for the Grimsby game has been set back to 1.30pm.

Grimsby Town vs Rotherham United was originally scheduled for Saturday October 6th. Again, the match has been rescheduled due to England's commitments. The match will now take place Friday October 5th, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Grimsby Town vs Manchester City has also been bought forward a day to Tuesday October 23rd kick-off 7.45pm to allow a three day gap between this fixture and the Birmingham clash.
