Rowan Set For Speedy Return after KO

STRIKER Jonathan Rowan has not ruled out making a speedy return against Nottingham Forest this weekend, after being knocked unconscious during the cup win over Sheffield United. Rowan was taken to hospital after a knock to the back of the head in the build up to Marlon Broomes' opener.

The Grimsby-born striker has since been allowed home. "I just remember the corner coming in. I got an elbow, I'm not sure whether it was intentional or not, the next thing I knew I was in the ambulance." the 19-year-old told Mariners Net.

A relieved Lennie Lawrence, whose side have made a brilliant start to the season despite being plagued by injuries, said: "I've been told that Johnny is all right but he had a head injury and it's normal not to take any risks with things like that. At the moment, it does seem likely that he can play on Saturday but I'll have to wait and see what the doctor says."

Tonight's reserve match at Stockport has been moved to tomorrow evening due to Stockport's involvement in the Worthington Cup. The match will take part at 1900 at Edgeley Park
