Town Pair in Humberside Phone-In

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 17/12/2001

GRIMSBY TOWN fans can have their say on a special Mariners phone in tomorrow evening on BBC Radio Humberside. The no holds barred show, hosted by David Burns between 7.30 and 8.30 PM, will feature Town chairman Peter Furneaux and manager Lennie Lawrence answering your questions.

Although the pair's involvement is yet to be confirmed at the time of writing, both have faced a deluge of criticism from fans after last week's fiasco involving the failed signing of Blackburn defender Marlon Broomes, followed by the humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of relegation rivals Walsall on Saturday.

Anyone wanting to contribute from outside the area are welcome to call to air their feelings on 01482 225959.

  • This afternoon's Avon Insurance Division One reserve clash at Bury was postponed due to a frozen pitch at Stainton Park. The fixture will be rearranged for some time in the New Year.

  • Town Juniors' North East Conference game at Scunthorpe this weekend was abandoned by the referee after a mass brawl involving all 22 players.
