GRIMSBY Town's chief executive Ian Fleming has revealed that the club will not be appealing against Simon Ford's sending off against Preston last Saturday, it was revealed today.

It was believed that the young defender would have to serve a three-match ban for the straight red he received for bringing down Ricardo Fuller. However, after reading the referee's report, the 20-year old will just miss the Leicester City clash.

Club captain John McDermott will be in line to start his 600th game for the Mariners against Crystal Palace after overcoming his recent calf injury.

Town have struggled to find a natural replacement for the veteran full-back with Iain Ward and Wes Parker both deputising in McDermott's absence.

Tony Gallimore is also likely to make the starting eleven after training for the best part of this week.

Manager Paul Groves has also tied up a season-long loan deal for Leeds and England Under-20 keeper Shaun Allaway.

The highly rated Elland Road youngster will stay at Blundell Park until May despite the re-emergence of Steve Croudson from a shoulder injury.
