Race For Boulding!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 03/12/2002

Paul Groves is reported to be doubling his efforts to bring Boulding back to Blundell Park. Boulding has returned to his own club Aston Villa after leaving Sheffield United with an ankle injury.

But he is now back in training and Groves wants to get him back to BP before other clubs beat him to his signature. Boulding has intimated that he wants to come back to Grimsby on an initial one months loan period and because of his age he cannot sign a season long loan. Four months is the maximum he can stay at BP.

Groves is desperate to sign him for the game against Walsall on Saturday and is now pulling out all the stops to get him.

Chairman Peter Furneaux told Radio Humberside that it was a matter of fitness. If Boulding is fit it looks like Groves will get the OK to sign him but Town will not want to take on anyone who is not fully match fit.

In the meantime Georges Santos is expected to sign a six-month contract this week.
