Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby finish?

Tuesday's News Round-up

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 06/04/2004

GRIMSBY defender Greg Young will miss the rest of the season after he dislocated his shoulder at Saltergate nine days ago and is to have an operation soon.

Young told the Grimsby Telegraph; "It's really disappointing to be out for the season especially as I was in the team and doing well. That's football, though, and that's life and I've just got to get on with it."

Young has chosen to have an operation to ensure it doesn't happen again.

John McDermott

Club captain John McDermott is also preparing to have surgery to repair a hernia injury that has been troubling him since before Christmas.

Player of the Year Awards

Grimsby Town have announced the date for the Annual Player of the Year Awards Evening and voting slips are now in circulation for fans to have their say in the Supporters' Young Player of the Year and Supporters' Player of the Year categories.

The event will take place at The Winter Gardens in Cleethorpes on Tuesday 11th May 2004 with doors opening at 7.30pm.

Tickets have now gone on sale from the club shop at Blundell Park priced at just £2. The official awards ceremony, when almost 30 separate awards are presented, will be supported by entertainment from the superb "Y'Abba D'Abba" and a disco.
