Season Tickets On Sale!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 05/06/2004

GRIMSBY Town have unveiled the season ticket prices for the coming season with the emphasis on the younger supporter and family groups.

Grimsby Town have taken what is an unprecedented step in modern football and actually reduced ticket prices in some stands.

Juniors are the biggest winners with prices slashed by 33% from the £75 last year to just £50 for the coming campaign. This equates to just over £2 per game.

The other price that has been reduced is the Upper Smith's adult price from £323 last year to £304 for the coming season.

Matchday prices for juniors have also been reduced from £8 to £6 and the Upper Smith's adult matchday price from £17 back to £16, for a day ticket.

There are also 3 other 'bonuses' for season ticket renewals this year. For the first time, the first rounds of the Carling & LDV Trophy cup games (if staged at Blundell Park), are to be given free to all those who purchase a season ticket.

The third bonus applies to the first 1000 supporters to renew their season tickets. Pleasure Island in Cleethorpes have very kindly issued the Club with 1000 tickets, worth £12 each and these will go to the first 1000 supporters who renew their seats.

The usual facilities for payment are also in place and fans can spread their payments over 6 equal monthly payments for a very small interest charge, which is mostly covered by a free £15 Clubshop voucher issued with every successful credit application through this scheme.

Town Director John Fenty confirmed the new price structure. "It is very important to demonstrate to the fans that we take their support seriously and after an extensive fact finding from other Third Division Clubs, we decided to pitch our prices accordingly."

"With all the positive feed back we have been getting of late from the appointment of Russell Slade as Team Manager, the new pricing policy is another positive step forward."

Season tickets will go on sale on Monday 7th June 2004 and the discount period has been extended until Saturday 17th July 2004. Season tickets can be purchased by Cash, cheque or Credit/Debit card.

Full information will be released to all season ticket holders by Tuesday of next week. Anybody who is not a current season ticket holder can request a season ticket information pack, by e-mailing steve@gtfc.co.uk or by contacting the GTFC Ticket Office on 01472 605050.
