Hull City Player Joins Town!

CENTRAL defender Justin Whittle has turned down an offer of a further 12 months at the KC Stadium in favour of a deal with Grimsby Town.
Previously with Stoke and Celtic, he joined Hull City in November 1998 for £50,000. Hull City's official site says "The longest-serving player at City, he was instrumental in the Tigers' successful relegation battle and has been a mainstay at the back ever since. He was also team captain for most of that time before handing over the armband to Ian Ashbee last year and taking on the roll of 'club captain' instead."
He has made 219 first team appearances but only two of them were since last November, and the reason for his move is that he will get first team opportunities.
This will probably be the first new face Slade has brought in unless there is an earlier signing today, but indications are that this is the player reported to be having a medical yesterday.
