DUTCH striker Sergio Ommel (27) is the latest foreign trialist to make his way to Blundell Park. The former Bristol Rovers striker will play in tomorrow's reserve game with Hartlepool.
6'3" Ommel, who scored 10 goals in 21 games for Rovers, and was a crowd favourite at the Memorial Stadium, was harshly released, according to reports.
Since then the Dutchman has been playing for Stormvogels/Telstar, for whom last season he scored 13 goals in 35 games.
The Mariners have had several foreign players on trial since Russell Slade arrived at the club, but are yet to sign any of them on a permanent basis. Slade has been looking to sign a target man for the last few months.
